Project: Robotic Loading of Watergel Explosives into cases

The explosive charges are produced in a flow wrapped package and then loaded into cases in various formats. This was being done by hand taking several people to complete the process.

Solution

Fully automatic packaging line incorporating Tekpak Collator and the Packman® V650 Robotic Loading Cell which fully automates the process of loading products into cases.

The pack sizes weighed up to 2.5kg and loading in groups of 10 with each case weighing 25kg. Our solution completely eliminates any need for manual handling.

Size change had to be done very quickly to avoid unnecessary delays in production - all devices required to achieve a fast and "right first time" accurate change over have been developed so that change over can occur in approximately 1 minute.
Facility for remote diagnostics and connection to clients ethernet network to provide production data and to facilitate remote diagnostics.
Extremely high efficiency using our well proven Packman Robotic Loader.

Technical

All electronic parameters are automatically set up when the operator selects the product on the HMI colour touch screen.
Motion controlled system using brushless servo motors.
LC CAN BUS for distributed I/O.
Stainless steel suitable for wash down environments
